Sweet little boys! I'm sure you're right and Oscar was just worried. I bet these boys are very bonded and one day without poor sick Cecil must have been very worrisome indeed!

Cecil looks wonderful!!! :love6: :rose:

Was the tumor only attached in a small area or is there any danger that it could have anchored further into his little body?

I have no doubt that he will fatten up in no time now that he is not feeding that thing!

it really was a mammary tumour IMO. I think it was a clean removal. My only concern is if the surgery flares up his URI, and his poor stressed body cannot handle things well or if his age makes him not able to put weight back on...guess we wait and see how our brave boy does. Step One is complete at least. :joy:

Will have a chat with the guy upstairs. It is really inexcusable to put a D-cup mammary tumour on such a little guy! :stickpoke:

Give lots of kisses, cuddles and scritches to the little bug-a-boo and his friends. They really deserve a break and some happiness... as does mom. :love6:

ok, so we have the photos, and we have the tumor weight, but just one question remains...

where did all that extra skin go? It just looks so much more neat and tidy than I was expecting for all the skin surrounding that tumor? Do they just tuck it in there or something? :?

Usually they remove the skin with the tumour.

his pupils are huge...I never seen a picture of a rat with their eyes so dilated...

Dr. Munn is very neat and tidy with his work. They first remove the tumour, then they excise the excess skin and try to get it to be as "tight" a fit as possible so there's no pockets that fluid could accumulate and develop a seroma.

When Cecil finally makes the leap into his hammock he might fly right over it without the added weight! :giggle: He looks very good! Your vet is wonderful! I am envious but glad you have one!

This is how thin Cecil is without his "friend"...now we need to will some meat on those little bones

He's also shy about his incision, even though I reassure him he's a handsome handsome boy. :D

Cecil and his brothers, Malcolm and Finley got a surprise package tonight. :)

Auntie Jo and Nic, sent them a bunch of deckers since I was running dangerously low for my more disabled loves.

checking out the warm Cozy Corner pile...

Ahh yes.. there's nothing quite like life's simple pleasures :) especially after major life events like surgery.
Every time I see photos of Cecil my heart just melts. He's a sweet, sweet boy.

How is Oscar doing now that Cecil and Loki have been back in their home cage? Does it seem his fears have been calmed?
