28 hounds in FT Worth Texas rescued from horrible conditions 3 weeks ago. The dogs were distributed amongst a few rescues and they are having a huge online auction to raise funds for the care of these poor things. Here are some links for more info:

There was also a random Saluki in the mix named Vincent! Awww... even after 3 weeks of vet care and gaining 7 lbs he is still in such poor condition. But thank god he's on the road to recovery!

holy hell...those poor dogs! That is so sad, and disgusting how skinny and how many ticks they had on them. :sad3: Stupid humans

Lots of Greyhounds are in peril in the US with all the racetracks shutting down. As much as I rejoice at seeing the end of the abuse at racetracks, it results in hundreds of Greyhounds in dire need of rescue and homes.
These rescues have their work cut out for them. I have spread it around Facebook.

Our last load of Grey's came from a track closingin Miami but they were no where near what these guys looked like. They just passed law that all New England states are now banned from Greyhound racing. So there's only 7 states left to pass the laws. Though some of those states don't have Grey racing they still need in banned in case they try and start it.

I think the biggest and worst state for it seemed to be Florida. That's were we've been getting all of our Grey's.

What happens when all the track shut down finally??

I'll be so happy that no more greys are being exploited and sufferng but won't it make greys a rare breed? I only know of one CKC breeder of greys in all of Ontario and I think there's like five in all of Canada. With no more ex-racers, would they all be imported (like thru Scooby)?

I'm just wondering. I love greys and would love to have one but I don't really want a purebred Grey (there is a difference) nor do I completely agree with the importation of rescue animals.
