Life has been so busy, but things are starting to slow down finally!
I do still have two of my standard boys born in early 2019, Atticus and Kevin. They are both very old men now. It goes by so fast! 😢

However, I did adopt six baby dwarf boys in April of this year. They do live separately from my two standard boys, they are very little guys and average only about 190 grams each! They are also my very first dwarf rats and are absolutely the most adorable little kiddos I have ever seen! We did have some issues with some hormonal aggression in a few of the dwarf boys (not towards us, but each other and it started to escalate) but I found an amazing vet that neutered all six boys for me and that fixed all the problems wonderfully! They are now an adorable little family of 6! ❤️ I have never had neutered male rats before either and it has been so interesting to see how much that has changed their fur texture, it went back to baby soft fur!

Here are some pictures of my little dwarf rat pack! Hope everyone is doing well and some of the old members are still around!

My two standard boys are so old now and mostly just sleep these days, but here is a cute picture of my Kevin, in his hammock, looking a bit like an opossum. ;)

Awww its nice to see the old boys again and those little dwarfies look like they keep you on your toes ;)

Question for you. The wee dwarfie dude in the middle with the red eyes and beige-ish cap, does he have a darker nose and rump? If so do you know what colour he's supposed to be? I took in a rescue that looks quite a bit like him, standard baby though.

Hi there. He does now, he is a Siamese and was molting his baby coat in that picture. He came to me almost fully beige and slowly turned white and got his nose and bottom points.

Here are a few pics when they were still in quarantine as he was changing.

That's what I thought. I have 2 bubbas that look similar so I'll see what happened. The older one a baby boy is about 7 weeks old. The tiny girl was only 3 weeks when I got her and now she's 5 weeks, so I have a bit of a wait.

I only have terrible pics of them so far...they move too fast for my cell camera LOL

You should cut some fleece and give him a blanket, i do this for my ratties

I finally got pics of my babies to compare to. The wee girl looks like she's smeezing out, the boy looks like he's just got weird markings. I'll post them for you once I get them resized and uploaded off my phone :)

baby boy - he's older by quite a few weeks...I think he's going to stay Moo-like :)

So handsome! He looks like he could be a beige hooded/mismarked possibly. But I am not as familiar with all the proper rattie colors either. He is super pretty though. I love his little beige spots!

baby girl
So cute! 😍 If her points are really light, she could also be himalayan (ch/c) instead of siamese (ch/ch). I believe they tend to have much lighter points, although the base color can also affect how dark the points are on a siamese (for examples a black base with siamese usually gives the darkest points. Where an agouti or chocolate base can really wash out the points!) But I also only know the basics of rattie genetics. 😉
