Hello everyone, i am new here. As well as new rat owner, had my babies for 4 months now. Few week ago had to take one of my rats to the vet. He was sneezing, snoring when he slept, breathing really loudly. But vet told me that he can hear something but it's nothing wrong? But if i want he can give me antibiotics just in case...he gave me baytril. I don't know how that can be nothing wrong. But can't say that in taking it for 2 weeks helped a lot..maybe a little better breathing in times.
Anyway, after bringing him from vet, second day i noticed scar somewhere between his shoulders and on shoulder side. and tiny scar on his back. Now they are scratching themselves but i dont know how often is considered too often, could it be mites or could it be bites from other rat.
Now one rat is aggressively grooming the one that is sick. And i can't bring them to vet, because spent all money on 1st rat vet and medicine and been out of job for some time now, so can afford another visit.. how can i know if it mites or something else

These are boys I take it? How old 6 months? That looks like the location of a healing tension skin slice caused by the dominant male pinning him down.

As for the snoring it might be nasal congestion. Does it sound a little like an outboard motor or popping from the nose?

Yes, they both neutered boys, and i don't really know how old they are. I have them 4 month, and they were pretty small when i got them(pet shop).
Nose sound more like popping o think.
And breathing i got on video i can try to upload it when i get home.

Upload the video to something like YouTube and paste the link in your post. Does the wound seem to be healing?
The one on the back is gone, scratch on the shoulder is gone as well, only this wound that i showed in the pictures still remains. But it is healing. The only problem is that other rat is trying to groom him on that spot.
Here is the video:
Breathing video
Snoring
Snoring 2 (in this position snoring gets worse)
Usually he is breathing like that when he gets exited to go out of the cage. But sometimes it feels like his nose is stuffed. When he wakes up he often does something sounding like hiccups but i from looking at him it looks like he sneezing but instead of blowing air out he inhales. He does that and then looks like he eat something after doing that. Really hard to explain, and it is so difficult to catch it on video.
