My girl Lilly seems generally unwell. I’m not sure exactly what’s wrong. She’s 2 years and 3 months old and prone to tumors. Recently I’ve noticed her tummy looks bigger. I figured she’s slowing down and gaining some weight and I need to lay off the treats a bit. I’ve also noticed she’s been puffing her fur but my house is pretty cold. I took her to the vet because she has 2 tumors, one on her side and the other near her vulva. They’re both very small right now and I decided to wait a little longer before having her endure more surgery because she had a tumor on her ovary that was removed about a month ago. The vet said she’s healthy otherwise and everything sounds and looks good. Today I noticed she has a ton of porphyrin. It’s all over her face from her grooming and it’s on the inside of her paws. This happened when my other girl had heart failure and could barely clean herself anymore so it’s worrying me. She’s also been peeing on herself. I’m worried that there’s something going on with her stomach. She’s still taking treats when I offer. I haven’t noticed her eating her food much but she could be eating when I’m sleeping or at work or just not in the room. She seems to be drinking well. I think she’s getting really sick and I don’t know what it is or how to help her.

She looks like she has internal mass(es). It would explain all you are seeing. :/
That’s what I’ve been thinking too. I asked the vet to check out her belly and she said she didn’t feel anything. I do have another vet that I can take her to so maybe I’ll make her an appointment there to get a second opinion. Do you know of anything I can do to make her more comfortable before I can get her back to the vet? I’m so worried about her

Pain relief like metacam would be ideal. If shes not pooping or peeing though, a tumour could be pressing on or inside her digestive system (also causing the bloat)0

I’m currently waiting for a reply from the vet. I emailed her and let her know everything that’s going on.
She’s peeing and pooping okay. She’s peeing on herself and not grooming it though so I’ve had to rinse her off.
Do you know anything about cbd oil for rats with tumors? I was thinking about asking her vet about it because I’ve heard of it helping with tumors a bit.

So the vet is amazing and ended up squeezing her in today. She said that there’s definitely something going on and that it’s probably her intestines. She did an X-ray on her but couldn’t see anything either because of a mass (or masses) or fluid. She mentioned doing an ultrasound early next week to get a better picture of what’s going on and if anyone can help her. She sent her home with an enrofloxacin, meloxicam, and emeraid sustain since she’s not eating as much. We’re trying to keep her as comfortable as possible until we can figure out what’s going on

Lilly passed away early this morning. She had been getting worse and we weren’t able to get her to the vet fast enough. Her stomach got really swollen and she started refusing pretty much all food and water. I was hoping she could hang on until we could get some answers. I’m probably going to have a necropsy done because it’ll make me feel better knowing what was wrong with her. If I get it done I’ll update with the results in case this can help anyone else.

Information is always good. I'm so sorry about Lilly :(
Thank you ❤️ The vet found many masses in her abdomen. They were in between her intestines and everything so she thinks it was probably cancer. I’m just glad it happened fast and she didn’t suffer for very long.
