Stopped at Petsmart on my way home. 1-I never stop at this Petsmart, but I decided to buy litter. 2-We don't use litter anymore, but I decided to put it in the cages this time and needed more to freeze. 3-Petsmart never has rats. I never would've even known he was there had some people not been "picking on" him and drawing attention to him. He was in a cage at the end of an aisle tucked away by the cats. It seems he was dumped/let go and had been living on that shelf for a few weeks. He is HUGE, one massive size boy... and he has damage to his tail. There was no way I could leave him there all alone. So meet no name, I have been calling him Buddy....

so glad you rescued him!!
he looks a bit bewildered but I bet he warms up quickly and loves his new comfy home

You cannot tell in the picture, but this is a massive boy.. He is one of the biggest we have had. He is about the size of Zeus and Apollo. Peanut was big, but he was, hmmmm extra fluffy shall we say. This guy is BIG.....

Oh my goodness, you're comparing him to Peanut lol that's a seriously big boy. I think Petunia is right. Got a feeling he's gonna settle in nicely and fairly quickly. He just looks so sweet, darling little face.

I think the powers that be intervened there. I'm so happy to hear that he's just become the luckiest boy in the world by hitting the jackpot with you guys :001:

Keep us updated with pics. He's really lovely.

He's not "fluffly" like Peanut, but probably as long as he was. He's an acceptable weight. I've had his cage open next to me all day, but he won't come out - poor guy!

I think this guy must of lived in a tank and had a rough life. He has no idea what hammocks are. Occasionally, he will reach for the hammock and push at it. I also have a hanging teepee thing that he cannot figure out - he also occasionally pokes at it, but doesn't realize he can climb into it. He just sleeps on the floor of the cage in the plastic cube I gave him. He takes treats very nicely - no nipping. He is very itchy - I tried to get revolution on him yesterday, but I couldn't get him out of the cage. I hope I got it on his skin and not just his fur. We revolution'd all the others a few days ago so they are good.

I had the cage open all day yesterday next to the chair I was sitting in and this is as far as he would come out.

He doesn't know toys either and keeps wondering what this hanging thing is.. After awhile he did try to chew the bottom of it

I think his name will remain Buddy since he seems to be answering to that. Although looking at these pictures I think maybe Rex - for T-rex, he looks like a big dino... Oh, maybe Clark sent him to me - my Clark-a-dilosaurus.. :missu:

Yes she did it again I'm at work all weekend long. I stop by home yesterday and have 3 more little ones. Going have brake out the other large cage again.

Get off my thread... Nice english for that last sentence too.. I only got 2 little ones... and 1 BIG boy... who you treated with treats like they have been here the whole time.. What did you give me when you came home?? Nothing, could of brought me lunch - I get nothing and all the fur kids and one handsome nakie get treats.

It's Peggy's fault remember... LOL
Shouldn't you be working or something???

so heartbreaking to read about his interaction with a hammock. Made me go grab my boys and fuss em. I really like this beautiful boy. I know it's only a couple of pictures but from how you describe him, just seems there's something a bit special about him. Little darlin! I wish I could give him some scritches. I can't wait to see updates for him when he gets his new girlfriends! He's gonna be heaven. They'll show him what to do with the hammocks. He will copy them, bless him.

Got him out of the cage on Wednesday for alittle while. He seems to find the cage as a safe area and wants to be in it. He isn't nippy, but will open his mouth and put his teeth on us. When we say no he stops. He doesn't bite. He just a big goof.. I put him in the hammock and he quickly got out. He didn't like it at all.

Had him out this morning again. For some reason he cries when we pick him up and pees on us, but once we're holding him he stops. At least he hasn't bitten us - Yet! He makes giant poops too. Here are afew pics maybe you can get a better idea of his size. He likes massages from daddy.

Thanks for keeping us updated on him, I've been thinking about him. His behaviour is charactised by the neglect he's endured huh. I think it's a real testimony to his lovely nature and the loving environment you guys project that he's already enjoying a massage this early in the game :) he's a smart boy. He's big! Needs some fattening up though. He'll adapt I'm no time! Once he sees his cage mates using the hammocks, he will copy them. He needs showing. Give him a scritch from me.
