The babies post is on the page prior had to do two post to fit all the pictures in it!

I drove about 45 minutes to meet up to pick up the 5 boys. It was an ugly day, icy rain all morning :( I picked the worst hotel in the town to go I was creeped out but the sign made me giggle.
It looked like something horror movies are made from but the fact it says "rats" made me laugh my butt off for real.

I was hoping my look of disgust did now show through the second I felt the hip bones of these boys. All are under weight not as underweight as some have came in but these poor boys have every bone in their backs, tail and hips poking through. I treated them all with revo the second I got them in the door. I dont eat eggs at all I picked up a breakfast sandwich from McDonalds and I saved the eggs so they would have food. They ate it so fast I couldnt believe it. The cage had some sort of kibble in and what looked like clay cat litter in the corner. It was a travel cage but still. I weighed a couple and they were just over 350 grams but they should be at least 100g more. I will have them fat in no time, sadly we are good at making big rats LOL

I felt so bad, I stopped at one of the gas stations I work at and I got them two ham egg and cheese croissants and I gave them the egg and 2 slices of ham and that was gone just as fast.

Kait seen him and the first thing I hear is "oh is it remy again" Remy came in starved to death damn near, skin and bones looking like this boy. I dont know if he is a patchwork rat or if he is just not getting good food.

Ferguson came in as a single male. He is how I wish they would all come in. The owner drove over an hour to bring him to me. Cried on the phone about it. She had another one but he died a while back and she hate seeing him alone. She is so allergic it affects her breathing. The poor thing was in my house, rat central coughing and eyes turning red but wouldnt stop meeting the rats, she said it was worth every second. They also donated 50.00 and her parents gave us 10.00 after we gave them a tour of our hospice living room and the babies. I dont always agree with giving them up but I do see when it affects your health why you must. This poor girl was so upset and messed up when she was leaving. She loved this boy. His name is Ferguson :) he will keep that name.

Haha...I can't believe they named that rat dick....No pun intended right?? I can't wait to see these boys fatten up :) and ferguson looks like his mommy loved him very much.

You always get the rats with such nice markings... I was wondering the same about the "patchy" guy... The dark one reminds me of Axe in his youth... How old are they... Go fatten those boys up and give them some TLC...

suppose to be around 2 years old. I cant really tell from their body because they are pretty skinny so it makes it harder to say.

Dick (can you change that) definitely looks elderly, but Ferguson looks younger - he looks so much like Axe.... I bet they have full bellies today...

I can't believe they don't jump down and take off!

I have jumpers but not in ths group and it is very rare. Typically it is a girl. We let them out on here all the time and they never leave it. My chair has a rat escape hole in it a girl crawled in it liike a brat. we had to rip it open to take her out of it :( Jackson follows the dog every where she goes around the chair I keep waiting for hiim to jump on her but he hasnt. He does love the dog though. He tries to see the cat but she takes off and wont let him near her. It is a prety good jump off the couch though so I think that scares them from doing it.

Tuesday January 7, I lost Daryl. He was an old man rat who is a heart problem boy, had a tumor so It wasnt unexpected. Later that day I found Hershel who is my tilty boy breathing really hard, not expected. We lost him an hour later. I checked his cage-mates and Claire was very ill as well. Unexpected. I gave her meds and did our rounds and went to bed.

I woke up on January 8, Wednesday checked on the rats, found claire climbing the bars. We lost her an hour later. I started to panic at this point. We lost PJ later that night. Pj is another heart boy who has been going down hill super fast.

I started noticing more sneezes finding more rats struggling to breath and very Ill. Remy, Charlie, Tank, Diesel, Opie, Clay, Colt, Bumblebee, Morganna, Qwenny, Allanah, Irish, Liam, Rex, 2 of the girls of the 18, All of these are improving now or slowly improving but we are not done yet. The list goes on and on. We have maybe a dozen that are not sneezing right now. I am sure they will be soon. I am medicating every rat in the house, and I moved momma to my room after the first thought. She is on azithromycin since it is safe for nursing moms.

I am not sure how many losses we will be facing but we are shut down till further notice. No rat will go in or out of this house at this point. I believe it is sendai, I am waiting for one to pass when I can get their body to the vet to confirm this but as of right now I havent been able to get them into the vets office. Keep your fingers crossed for these guys it will take a miracle to pull us through this right now. I am getting up extra early before work to medicate and I do it again as soon as I get home.
