hiya so I’ve had 4 rats over the past few years and a few days ago my dear Bella passed away which has left my last rat Rosie all alone. She is senior now (around 2 years) and has multiple tumours, she isn’t in visible pain so I haven’t wanted to stress her out. I’ve talked to the vet and my mum and they say that I could keep her alone until she passes because I don’t want to have rats for a while as I don’t have the time or money for them anymore. I am fully aware of how essential it is for rats to be in groups and I’ve always kept my rats in pairs or groups but because she’s not exactly in perfect health and is quite old I’m unsure as to whether I should get her a friend as I don’t want to continue the cycle. I’m also unsure as to whether I should give her to someone else as I’m worried they won’t take good care of her and as she has tumours and is old I don’t think anyone would take her anyways. I’ve looked to see if I can get an older rat for her but there are none at all near me so I’m stumped. Since Bella passed she’s been sleeping more and does seem lonely but I have no idea what I could do.
