A few days ago I posted in health and general care because I thought the rat that I just rescued last week may be pregnant. Well, it turns out she was! Simone brought 9 tiny little rats into the world at about noon on April 22nd. I'm going to update this thread every day or two with pictures of the babies progress.

They grow and change so quickly its amazing. Your little girl brought life into the world on the day we lost our heart rat Clark... life goes on
 
Im so sorry to hear about your Clark. :( Funny coincidence though, before I even read your post I mentioned to my roomate I wanted to name one of the little girls Clarke like the character from the show The 100. Now I definitely have to do that.
 
Yes she is! I love PEWs theyre so cute in general :) I dunno if all her babies are going to look like her though because we dont know what daddy looks like.

Day three of babies. Taken at 10:30 this morning. The babies are so much more wiggly today, theyre starting to lift their heads up as if to sniff around. One also thought inbetween my fingers was a nipple and tried to suckle. Too cute!
 
My PEW momma produced rexs 1 dark hooded, 3 grayish hooded, 3 tan hooded - one has turned into a siamese. Cannot wait to see the markings your babies get
 
It would be nice to be able to tell them apart by markings right away hahaha. Im so excited for them to grow hair. The biggest baby has one ear starting to come away from his/her head!

I made momma a scrambled egg this morning and she loved it. She ate it right in the nest while she nursed.

When I picked them up today you could feel the fuzz starting the come in, like a thin layer of velvet. And my two runts are doing well, the female is 9.7 and the male 9.9, the largest baby is 12.2 so theyre only about 2 grams behind and still gaining steadily every day.

And again... the fur is really starting to come through and there's little flakes of skin coming off as it grows.

I have the next five days off from work (I booked two days off for appointments and my boss gave me a few extra days because she knows I have babies at home lol) so I'll be posting a lot more photos the next few days. :)
