We gave the boys a few small pumpkins to have fun with tonight, and boy, did they have a ball! There were pumpkins and rats rolling all over the cage, haha. They really loved chewing them up, it was so cute to watch. Babies are all tuckered out now.

The only one who wasn't too excited about everything was Doyle, so I included a picture of him and Cheswyck sharing a water bottle, since he wouldn't eat any pumpkins, haha.

I never think to give my ratties something like a pumpkin. Hmmm, I remember seeing little ones at the grocery store...

Do it! They love it so much, haha. Totally worth the mess in the end. Luckily I was smart and planned ahead, and waited until the night before cage cleaning day to give them their pumpkin, so the mess wasn't too awful haha

what a great idea! I usually get a big pumpkin and carve it into a jack o'lantern and let them play in that, eat the seeds, etc
but getting small ones would be so much better.
with only 3 rats, a big one is just too much

your rats are adorable!!
