What is Snitzel doing?

I saw him doing it the first time in his cage and then I tool him and his cage mate out to clean their cage and my daughter saw him doing it on the bed and then again on her shoulder so she sat him down in the chair and tried to get him on video doing it and she got it! I didn't see him do it again after I put them back in their cage but then again I went to bed very shortly after and they are still asleep today so not sure if he will do it today as well..Any ideas? It looks like he is rubbing and marking his territory. How old is he?

He is a year old this month..didn't say what day this month but sometime hahaha.

I didn't know he was new - explains a lot. You will have to watch him during intros as he may try to be dominant.

Rats have scent glands on their sides and paws. He's rubbing his sent all over the place. And like Joanne said, this could mean he's a more dominant rat. Go very slow with intros.

Ok, thanks guys I will definitely keep an eye out when I do intros but if I have to do separate play times then I can.
