I cannot remember where I heard it, but can wiping the boys down with Olive oil help with mites? Getting some meds for them next week finally and was just wondering. I figured it wouldn't hurt at least... Flux isn't happy with me now though. He actually nipped me while I rubbed him down. The corner of his tooth got me. Still wants pets and loves though. Can't blame him in the slightest

Coating your rat in oil will suffocate the buggies. Olive oil is the preferred choice seeing as how they will consume some of it. My concern is that with their coat oiled, they will get really cold.

Coating rats infected with mites with olive oil is a temporary measure used when babies are too young to be safely treated with revolution.
As I mentioned this is a temporary measure, and when babies are old enough, babies and mama are treated with revolution
