Sadly the female rat with the abscesses in her mouth had to be put down after several operations to remove infected teeth. The vet kept trying to clean up the infections and had her on antibiotics for a long time but the abscesses kept infecting her jaw to the point that she was going to be in too much pain, so she had to be put down to be merciful.:-(
So her sister who is on her own needs a good home. If you have room for one very friendly Himalayan female rat about one year old, please contact the special species department at the Toronto Humane Society.
