Rash from rats??

I had a scratch on my arm from my boy about 2 weeks ago. Since then I've had a rash localized around it. the scratch has healed but it's swollen and the rash is still there. It only itches sometimes... Anyone else experienced this?

It would be a good idea to get it checked out. You never know what might have been on those little ratty claws when you were scratched.

I've heard of a lot of ppl getting a rash after a rat scratch. I think some turned out to be like a secondary infection with a fungus, or possibly bacterial.

have you tried using anything on it?

I put some anti itch cream on it the other day. And it seemed to get a little better. But I haven't put anything on it since and it's gone back to how it was.... Gotta go to the pharmacy today so I'll pick up some ointment. I've washed it a couple of time with rubbing alcohol to keep it from getting infected

I sometimes get hives from my rats but they rarely last more than a few hours. Putting cold water on them seems to help.
