With winter approaching our humidity is about to plummet and we'll need to get the humidifier going.

We have an ultrasonic humidifier. Does anyone know how they work? Do they emit sound or is it absorbed in the humidifying process? Does any sound come out that could be of concern to our girls?

I'd really appreciate any insight or help on this! I know you can purchase sound emitters that are supposed to repel rodents and I cringe to think that by plugging in a humidifier we could inadvertently cause our little ones pain!

Thank you Petunia!

I had the idea that ultrasonic sound could give an animal a high pitched splitting headache ... so that was very helpful, it sounds like it's a bit more like a stereo to them that no one remembers to turn off!

I think we'll still put the humidifier in one room and the girls in another, so the noise isn't incessant - we'll try and find them a sound shadow.

:hugs:

I was worried and now I'm grateful, thank you!

P.S. Thanks for the water links too - VERY interesting!
