worm parasites!!! help!!!!

ok im back.. Again...
Well the vet called and said my rat had worms!! Im freaking out because of course she said it could be spread to humans!!! I have a 3 year old that loves them... But of course she has no idea what kind they are and says there isnt any place that can test to see what kind they are.. I never had a rat that had worms.. Of course i just added my babies two the two infested ones... So my question is has anyone had rats that have or had worms?!

no but revolution kills some types of worms, check at ratguide.com ...... but rats need to be a certain age before they can have revolution.
Is your vet treating them?

children get worms all the time from the soil, dogs and cats etc because they stick their fingers in their mouth and ingest the eggs

No shes not she told me they dont treat them for the one ahe thinks it is and said she doesnt think they can find out what type it really is and ok thank you

I know this is late but thank you for the information. My vet and other vets wont treat until we figure out what type it is since its hard to treat worms and can make my ratties sick so i am sending stool samples to a specialist to see what type the worms are and if antibiotics are even nesassary.
