i never thought of mites! we've had to deal with mites on three of our rats after we moved apartments and stressed them out-causing the mites to multiply and become a big itchy problem. aside from the ones on our regular haired rat, we could definitely see the crawling on our two hairless gals. we never noticed any mites crawling around on Rose. or Charlotte. but that does make perfect sense... they propagate whenever rats hormone levels change... and Rose was definitely dealing with some stressful situations. poor gal. even the vet didn't say anything about it. hmm. well... now we know. thanks!
