We have 2 affectionate adult male rats that need a new home.We have had them since they were 8 weeks old, and it's been about a year and a half. Over this time we have tried everything to try to make this work but unfortunately my daughters allergies have become so bad that she cannot be around them at all anymore. We tried keeping them in the family room however our dogs are set on hunting them and they aren't safe. We are located near Sussex NB but I am willing to transport the boys to their new home in the maritimes. Please give them a new loving home :( Thank you

People with allergies are usually allergic to the bedding being used or to the allergen in the rat's urine
Neutering reduces the allergen in the urine and many people who are allergic to male rats find that having them neutered (by an experienced rat vet) reduces or alleviates the problem. See http://www.ratshackforum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=7691
An air purifier with a hepta filter and replaceable carbon filters can also help
Moving them out of her room was a good idea but sounds really dangerous with the dogs

If you are unable to find them a good home I might be able to take them, but you would need to cover the cost of their neuters
as I do not have the funds. I am in Fredericton

You might want to post on Maritime Rat Rescue Group on Facebook
Here is some rehoming information that might be helpful: http://www.ratshackforum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=23041
btw, cute pictures might help your ad (pictures can be downloaded from sites such as photobucket)

good luck

We have 2 adult male rats who are in need of a new forever home.
We have had them for about a year and we have tried everything to try and keep them however my daughters allergies are just too much for her to bear any longer..
We tried putting them into the family room but our dogs are obsessed with hunting them :(.
These are pets ONLY and very affectionate rats.
They have been having some squabbles recently but it may be the stress of being covered to protect them from the dogs.
Please contact if you can give these great boys a loving forever home.
Please note that questions will be asked to ensure they are going to a good home.
Possibility of providing a cage to a good home
