Beware of exotic rescue on kijiji

There is a guy on Kijiji claiming to be an Exotic Animal Rescue when in fact, this person actually breeds rats for pet stores and feeders. He is located in Barrie.

Ya, I know the guy. The sad part is that he really thinks he's a terrific guy..... :gaah:

Maybe if you post warnings about him on kijiji ...
and complain to kijiji about his ad where he misrepresents himself.
... I did complain but don't feel I know enough to write a post.

Ya, he advertises for Sudbury as well, apparently he's willing to drive distances to pick them up.

apparently he does "Animal Parties", I assume with all the extoics hes "rescuing".

So should we assume all those pet rats and mice he adopts are now food for his Exotic herps? :sad3:

Well, this isn't the guy I had in mind. I would bet that he "adopts" rats and mice not only to feed his animals but also to vary his gene pool and prevent the problems inherit to inbreeding.

I emailed him to ask about if he know if anyone was looking for degus, I have his number in my email but I never phoned him.
Now I know not to.

Has anybody reported it to Kijiji?
They are actually pretty good about people lying.

There are some drug users in my neighborhood that breed small animals to make money for their drugs. What they can't sell, usually lands in rescues/shelters incl. us (via the shelter). I have been inside their place and it's disgusting.

Whenever they pose as rescue I send Kijiji an email and they generally remove the ads. They are generally asking for supplies and "adopt out" animals. They occasionally also look for fancy type of rats e.g. hairless, blues etc.

That's disgusting!
