Happy Customers

I’ve included a Happy Customers gallery so people can see rats actually enjoying their hammocks made by Cozy Corner. We’ve had a few people email us and tell us how much they love the hammocks and when they send up pics, I always post it here. That’s pretty much what it’s about for us. Making hammocks accessible and available to everyone. We use only fleece because it is safer, it’s softer and wicks moisture away. I’m really pleased when I see the rats enjoying their hammocks.
Here are a couple of cuties from Newfoundland, Canada. These loves have been enjoying Cozy Corner hammocks for some time now.
Many thanks to Renee for letting me use her pictures. :)

Giving Back

We were recently contacted by Lisa Rousseau about helping out her rescue and adoption efforts. Jo and I were more than pleased to be able to donate 4 hammocks to Adopt A Rat Fredericton. Lisa is working with another wonderful lady in New Brunswick, helping in rehoming, adopting, and rescuing rats. Both are doing a great job. Rats in the maritime need all the help they can get in order to find a good loving home.
If you are in NB, please consider adopting and do visit the Facebook page Adopt A Rat Fredericton. You’ll be glad you did!

How Cozy Is It?

We didn’t name our site the Cozy Corner for nothing. And since having been in business for a couple of years now, our reputation is indeed that we are cozy. In fact, one of our happy customers made this video of her very sweet Evie in her tent made by the Cozy Corner.
Evie is so comfy cozy, she’s boggling, a happy rat indeed.

Capsized!

The Cozy Boat just keeps getting better and better. A couple of our brilliant customers decided to hang their boat upside down which allows for a full flat hammock and a little peekaboo cabin underneath. They tell me their rats absolutely love it that way. So Jo decided to give it a try with her crew. Yep! It was an instant hit. The rats climbed into the cabin easily and others cuddled on the top. The Cozy Boat makes the perfect hammock for any cage, in any way you hang it.

Here are Jo’s Marshall and Magnum enjoying there capsized boat.

Winter Fest!

How does one beat the winter blues? Why, by having a winter fest for your critters. I’ve created a set of cute sledding and skating penguins. Just think how sweet the cage will look all doled up in winter fest penguins. Your critters will love the new hammocks, keeping them warm throughout February and more.

Happy winter!

Check out the categories for the hammocks. We’ve got pop up tents, boats, hide & squish, cubes, even a baby cube for those smaller critter lovers.

Up For The Challenge

Recently on the Rat Shack a member took in some hairless rats with lots of eye problems. It was determined that these rats needed a cleaner environment and a lint free home. It was clear that fleece and flannel could not be used for bedding or hammocks. The vet recommended a tightly woven fabric like broadcloth. Jo and I decided to donate some hammocks for these special little guys. We were able to find the fabric at Fabricland. The challenge was making a lint free hammock. I knew that most fabric except for fleece will fray when cut. So the challenge was to make sure there were no cut sides exposed. It was all about tucking, folding, sewing and making the hammock as “clean” as possible. One of my bunk beds had to be remade a few times over, trial and error is how I finally was able create usable hammocks. In the end, I think it turned out pretty good. I was able to make 2 pocket hammocks, 2 flats, 4 bunk beds and 1 tent. I really do hope these little guys are not chewers, this fabric will fray once it’s been cut into, cutting with teeth is no exception.
Their new mom has done so much for them, taking them in, getting them to the vet and setting them up in their unique home. I’m very proud and happy to be able to give a little back to such a wonderful person and hairless ratties too.

Hammocks the whole lot!

A Hide & Squish.

And one of the favourites chez Shelagh is the Bunk Bed. I’ve never offered these before but I find them easy to make and will now be making them.
